Ethics and service boundaries
Clarity protects
the process.
Professional Support. Neutral Resolution.
Commitments in mediation
Participants make their own decisions. The mediator remains impartial, screens and addresses conflicts, works within demonstrated competence, explains confidentiality limits and fees, and pauses or ends a process when it cannot be conducted appropriately. No outcome is promised.
The joint AAA, ABA and ACR Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators inform these commitments. They are an ethical benchmark, not a claim of certification or court approval.
Non-attorney boundaries
A disclaimer does not authorize legal practice. Attorney-supervised support requires actual direction and review. Direct clerical assistance remains mechanical. No attorney-client relationship is created with this practice.
Fees and cancellation
All fees and allocation are agreed in writing. Proposed default terms charge only completed work and approved nonrecoverable expenses, without an extra cancellation penalty. A 48-hour notice request is a scheduling preference. The signed engagement controls.
Questions or concerns
Raise process, safety, access or role concerns through the agreed business contact. Do not send private case details through a general website inquiry.
